My name is Laura. I´m 26 years old and I live in El Quirinal (Avilés)
I’m going to write about my free time because I´m a very busy person.
From Monday until Friday I go to the faculty in the mornings from 9:00 until half past one. After this I go to my parents’ home because I have lunch there. Then I study a bit and from Monday until Wednesday I go to my English class. I leave the class at 8:00pm and often my boyfriend and I take a coffee before going home. In our home we prepare the dinner. Finally I finish the day very tired but before going to bed we watch the TV a little. We normally go to bed at 12:30.
At the weekend it is difficult to know what we are going to do because every weekend we do different things: we do sport in the winter (ski), we go to the beach in summer, sometimes we go to the cinema and on Sunday I go to watch football because my boyfriend plays in a team.
Nowadays every Saturday I´m employed the whole day at the coffee-shop of the library and sometimes I´m employed at the theatre....
This is my life and I try to enjoy every day.

Esteban Suárez 1º L- NI, personal profile
I studied law because I had always wanted to be a great lawyer but when I finished I felt disappointed. I worked for a private company and I studied Theology.
When I finished my studies I realized that I could use my knowledge of theology and share it with teaching. I could make nowadays teenagers know the message I believed in and decide after that whether they would follow it or not.
My job is very pleasant. I´m a teacher at school now, and I hope I will stay there for a long time. I teach Theology to 500 pupils. They speak about their problems and anxieties and it is easier for me to know the reality of young people.
I explain to them that through their effort and solidarity and if they believe in themselves they can reach they goals and that there is always a future.
I direct with another teacher a school theatre group and we have 20 actors. As I work with young people I must be very creative, I can organize festivals, plays and conferences for young people, so they know about other costumes and cultures. Today, in Spain, there are people from different countries. It’s very important that we know their lifestyle, culture, costumes and religion too.
All that I do in my job I do it with pleasure and not as an obligation.

My favourite hobby, by Irene Rosas 1ºL-NI
Hi! My name is Irene. I’m 27. I’m studying English at the Official Language School of Avilés.
I’m going to talk about my favourite hobby. I have a lot of hobbies, like sports, reading mystery books or listening to music but I like watching films so much. I prefer to see the films at the cinema. Two years ago, I used to go to the cinema three times a month, with my boyfriend or with my friends, but now the cinema is too expensive, so we only go if the film is interesting. Also, we go to a video club and rent the films that we don’t see at the cinema (it’s cheaper).
What are my favourite kinds of films? I don’t know how exactly what… My favourite films are about the Nazi Holocaust, like Schindler´s List or The pianist.
Also, I like comedies like Burn after reading (that is a film noir) and Ben Stiller’s comedies. I think he is a fantastic actor of comedies. Finally I like dramas. One of my favourite films is In the name of the father, The Shawshank Redemption or Blood Diamond.
I hate romantic comedies or romantic stories, because they are boring and the stories are always the same.
As for my favourite actors and actresses, I don’t have one because, for example I don’t specially like Adrien Brodie but in The pianist I think he made a fantastic interpretation of his character and so did Leonardo Di Caprio in The Departed.
My special hobby, by Emma Lobato 1º E-NI
Hello,
My name is Emma, it is an English name but I’m Spanish. I’m a teacher. I work with little children (3, 4 and 5 years old) I like showing the children things about the nature.
I have a few silkworms in a cardboard box in my class. First of all they are little eggs, after that they became silkworms and they grow up eating a lot of leaves, but they only eat a special kind of leaves. The name of the tree in Spanish is morera.
The silkworm is the animal that eats more food in relation to its small size. They change and convert into cocoons, and then they keep in this condition for at least 3 weeks. After that they become butterflies. This process is amazing and children live it intensely, they watch the silkworms every day, feed them, giving them leaves and wait eagerly for their changes.
"FRIXUELOS" recipe, by Mayca Peña 2ºI-NI
It is a typical dessert in Carnival, though people now do them all the year round.
To make them, you need 200 grams of flour, 4 eggs, half a litre of milk, 1 lemon or anise, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and a pinch of salt.
First you mix all the ingredients: eggs, flour, milk, salt, and sugar with the mixer. When you already have the mixture, heat a small frying pan and pour a coffee spoon of oil. Pour a small layer of the mixture, making sure it reaches the whole pan. When the sides begin turning upwards, turn it and fry the other side slowly for another minute or so, and you have the crepes.
Finally, you sprinkle the crepes with the sugar and the cinnamon, but if you don´t like these ingredients, you can add chocolate with cream.
Emilia ' s Profile ( 2ºA-NB )
I live in Avilés , a small city in the north of Spain.
I’ve got a pet whose name is Lucas. He is 8 years old and he is a Yorkshire Terrier that barks a lot.
I am a secretary but I haven’t got a job, so I'm learning English at the Official School of Languages. I have got wavy black hair and my eyes are brown. I am very friendly and sociable. I don’t like staying at home and I prefer going out with my friends.

My studies, by Adrián Pandal 1ºL-NI
Hello, I´m Adrián Pandal Blanco. I´m 21 years old and I live in Las Vegas, a small town near Avilés.
Now, after I´ve introduced myself, I want to tell you about my studies. I´m studying engineering at Oviedo University, but my campus is at Gijón. This year I´ve begun the fourth year and until now I´ve passed all my exams. I have to study a lot. The worst thing about studying in Gijón is that I can´t often go home to eat, and the food of the university restaurant is disgusting.
Apart from this, I´m studying English too in the E.O.I of Avilés because I will need this language for my future job. Some days are quite difficult and stressful but I think that if you work a lot, you would be rewarded.
I hope that I haven´t bored you.

Paco ' s Profile ( 2ºD-NB )
This year I have begun to study English at the Official of School Languages in Aviles, I'm a second year basic level student.
I’m married and I have one son. He is 12 years old.
We like trekking and last summer we began to walk along Camino de Santiago ( Saint James' Way). It’s a long road that goes from the Pyrenees to the city of Santiago de Compostela in the northwest of Spain. We walked for six days and next year we’ll continue from the place where we have finished this year. We hope to have gone along the whole road in five or six years.
I also like ski and every winter I go skiing with my son, who loves this sport. My wife prefers walking with her snow racquets. This is one of our favourite hobbies because we like a lot the places where it’s practised. The scenary in those places is always spectacular and that makes me feel very, very good.
In the photo you can see me and my son Javier last winter in Candanchú.
Adrián ' s Profile ( 2ºD-NB )
My name's Adrián, I'm Spanish, and I'm in my fourth year at the high school. I'm studying English in Avilés' Official Languages School too, so I'm glad to write about myself on this blog.
I'm sixteen years old, I'm quite tall and dark (so I have brown eyes and brown hair). I wear glasses and I usually wear sweaters, jeans and trainers.
I think that I'm a smart, responsible person. I think I'm friendly, but a bit shy too. I'm a very hard-working person, who doesn't like leaving things without doing them.
I live in a flat in a small town near Avilés called Las Vegas, with my parents and Samuel, my little 8-year-old brother. My brother and I share a lot of hobbies: we both like video games and building games, like LEGOs.
When I was a child, I didn't want to have a brother, but now I wouldn't know how to live without him.
I have a lot of hobbies but my favourite one is Manga and Japanese animation (anime). I started a fansub (a project to subtitle anime or manga done by fans) last summer, and I used to translate a lot of anime chapters, but now I don't have enough time to translate. Fansubs take a lot of free time, and I spend a lot of time studying and doing my homework. Next holidays I'm going to subtitle more!
Well, I 'd like to add just one thing: Welcome to Twinblog, everyone! I've never entered a project like this, and I think this is going to be a very great fun.
Bye,
Adrián Rodríguez Ares (EOI Avilés)

MY JOB, by Verónica Veiguela 1ºL-NI
I work as an accountant and I enjoy it very much.
I usually speak with the ship's master and with the crew to help them in all they need, for example, giving them cash, calling them taxis, issuing their visas, taking them to hospital or to the doctor...etc.
On the other hand, I have to issue invoices to the ship's owners about all the services we have given to the ship. They are usually foreign, so I have to deal with them in English.
It is for that reason that I am taking English lessons, because at the moment speaking or sending English emails is a bit difficult for me. But there is another problem, which is that not all owners and crew are English people, they are from different countries, so their English pronunciation and writing are similar to mine, and it makes my job a bit more difficult.
I love my job, and I think that when I can speak and write English fluently, it will be better!

Hello my name is Alberto. I’m thirty and I’m about 175 cm tall. I am well built. I have short curly dark hair.
I am an industrial engineer and I have worked for a multinational company which manufactures windscreens for seven years . The factory is in Aviles (a small city in the north of Spain) very near my flat and I can walk to work (although I don’t always walk).
One of my hobbies is underwater fishing, if the sea isn’t very rough and I don’t work (and I don’t have English classes) I try to go to the sea. In the middle of the picture you can see a black circle which is my head and behind me a buoy which signposts my position. This day the sea wasn’t rough but when it is I don’t usually go because there isn’t visibility. My other hobbies are having a siesta, reading books, drinking wine (also beer) with moderation (although not always) and eating good food.

My name Sylwia
SURNAME: Pietrzak
AGE: 29
WORK AS: Polish and History teacher
Reading is my passion because of that fact I became a teacher. I decided to go to Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń. Although five years of reading, not always interesting books wasn't easy, I managed to pass all my exams. Since then , I've tried to show my students how great books are. Sometimes they lose with 21st century inventions like TV or computers but I found a way to deal with this problem, I use multimedia on my polish and history classes to make my lessons more interesting. I am fascinated by culture of many different European countries. I love traveling, because of that fact we, I mean my students and I, started an ,,European School Club". We meet every week and talk about traditions and customs in European countries. Sometimes we talk about diffferent religions. I am very satisfied with the fact, that my students become very tolerant and open minded people. Privatly I am a wife since 2004. My husband has got very similar interests and dreams to mine, so he forgives me the fact that I spend more time with students than with him.
