National Quality Label awarded!!!!

Our Twinblog has just been awarded the Spanish Quality Label today!!!!!

The Spanish eTwinning National Support Service, from the Ministry of Education, has got in touch with me, as coordinator of the project, to let us all know that our etwinning project was worth a National Quality Label.

eTwinning Quality Labels are granted to teachers with excellent eTwinning projects. They indicate that the project has reached a certain national standard.

What are the benefits?

The Quality Label is concrete recognition to teachers and schools of the high level of their eTwinning activities. For pupils, this offers a boost to their work efforts, and for the school in general, a public affirmation of their commitment to quality and openness in European collaborative work.

Who grants the national Quality Label?

The National Support Service (NSS) in each country evaluates applications from schools for the national Quality Label.

What are the criteria?

A project has to broadly achieve excellence in the following areas: (1) Sustainability, (2) Use of ICT within the project, (3) Results and benefits, (4) Curricular integration, (5) European dimension, (6) Innovation/creativity, and (7) Overall quality.

From our virtual etwinning meeting point, I'd like to sincerely thank all of you, etwinning teachers and students, who have all worked really hard for it.

Congratulations to everybody!!!!!!

Mini Sagas

Hello, Twinblog friends,
My students have written these mini sagas for you to read. A mini saga is a very short story as it must have 50 words!
Best Wishes from EOI Avilés.

REVENGE IS SWEET
He wanted to take revenge on his friend because this friend had teased him. He had pretended to sell a lottery ticket of the day before. Today his friend lives in a big mansion, surrounded by luxury, and he has stopped selling lottery to work as the driver of his limo

MINI SAGA:
Everyday the elder man went to the hospital to read the same story to the same elder woman. At the end of this beautiful story, the woman usually smiled and kissed him sweetly. Actually, she was his wife. He read their own love story and, fortunately, she often remembered him.

Revenge is sweet
The Russian Tycoon stepped out of a taxi on his return home from a football club’s Christmas party yesterday when he was threatened by two thieves. They stole his designer’s watch and expensive jewellery while the Tycoon reportedly disputed his taxi fare. He had not been injured. Inquiries are still ongoing.

Time is money
-“¿Could you read me a bedtime story?”
-“Alright,” the mother of the three little pigs told them. “You are big enough to live alone, but take care that the wolf doesn’t catch you.”
-“Stop, dad! You have 25 more words. This has to be a mini saga, not a novel!”

Best Wishes from EOI Avilés

Oviedo. Routes in MP3

Enjoy these wonderful and original recordings which will guide you around the city of Oviedo, discovering their origins, interesting stories, legends, customs and anecdotes, in a different way.

There is also a map attached; a useful tool that will help you during your walk around Oviedo. Photographs of each site described will help you to identify the monuments and elements from the recording.
The numbers specified on the map correspond to the track number in the MP3. Once located in the point specified on the map, you can easily choose the track number by using the forward button of the MP3 and press “play”.

The audioguides are available on our school's website in Spanish, English and German, as well as the .pdf map.

Hello eTwinners!

Hello eTwinners!
My name is Elena Espina and I am one of the teachers at Avilés EOI who are involved in this project.
When I first heard of eTwinning I thought that it sounded both interesting and appealing. At the time I was quite busy participating in a Grundtvig project at school. But when this came to an end, I thought I would miss the opportunity to be in contact with teachers and students from centres in other European countries. It had been quite rewarding to take part in authentic communicative experiences: from compositions and presentations written by my students and sent to them to real face-to-face conversations during their visits to our school and town. I was also lucky to be able to go on a couple of contact trips and meet teachers and students in their own hometowns.
I believe this eTwinning project will also help us make teaching and learning fun while we are making new friends across Europe.
We'll be in contact eTwinners!
